by Dorkusbalorkus Cat Agility Competitions?

Count me in! I would LOVE to go to one of these things. Just about laughed my head off looking at these pictures. I wonder how hard it would be to organize a cat agility competition here in Southeastern Ohio?

by ZNB What did you… (Week 4)

It’s Friday! Finally… Goodness gracious was today fast then totally slow, but here we go again with a weekly look at “what did you enjoy” during this specific week of the year.

What did you listen to this week?

  • Matthew Good - Avalanche
  • Coldplay - Parachutes
  • Trance Tuesday Podcasts

Matthew Good and Coldplay kept me warm in my car this week. Honestly, Coldplay was only played once (and I normally only mention artists/albums I’ve spun at least twice), but since it was their only amazing album I wanted to make a comment. Parachutes is great, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it… but I ended up skipping like 2 tracks. Crazy. Matthew Good’s Avalanche is (in my opinion) his best album as well. That is the one that was spun most this week. Look it up if you haven’t heard it before. He’s one of the few artists that can pull off long songs (Coheed and Cambria hold the record for the longest songs that rule though). Trance Tuesday podcasts were always blaring from my speakers at work. Between me and another co-worker our office is like an all-night glow-stick rave.

What did you play this week?

  • Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360 - Single Player) - Veteran mode
  • Pinball FX (Xbox Live Arcade)
  • Dead or Alive (Xbox 360)
  • Halo 3 (Xbox 360)
  • Gears of War (Xbox 360)
  • Ghost Squad (Wii)
  • Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles (Wii - Gamecube Game)
  • Burnout Paradise (Xbox 360)

“HOLY CRAP!” I know you just said that. This week, I had two days of gameplay. Wednesday a friend came over to play some 360, you can see all the titles we tasted for small amounts. Xbox Live was being spotty again, so most of it was not on Live. We ended with a little Ghost Squad on the Wii (I love lightgun games). We played the crap out of FF:CC last night. Mjblink came over and we’re on the quest to get 100,000 gil (each) from the princess. It was great. Plus I hooked it up to the surround sound and it is oh, so beautiful. Burnout Paradise came in the mail today, and I put it in the system. Drove the car like a mile and turned it off. So it barely makes the cut.

What did you watch this week?

  • Cloverfield (Theatre)
  • Mr. Brooks (DVD)
  • Dirty Jobs (TV)
  • LA Ink (TV)
  • Reno 911 (TV)

Notice something there? That’s right, American Gladiators didn’t make the list. Stupid me thought it was at 9… it’s not. The show starts at 8 folks. Bummer. Also, I love Dirty Jobs. LOVE IT. Mike Rowe is one of greatest TV hosts of our time. Now, if only being a web designer was a dirty job (I don’t think sloppy code counts). Reno 911 is great… Let’s see. CLOVERFIELD! That’s right, I saw it and guess what. Enjoyed it. I’ve heard people telling me it was stupid and they hated the shaky camera… Well research a film before you see it. That’s right I said it. Don’t be retarded people, I saw one preview and knew it was going to be like that. In fact, I loved that whole idea and it made it a better film. Was it the greatest film ever? No, but I got my monies worth. Mr. Brooks was a pretty good movie as well. That was a surprise. Good for Kevin Costner being in something like this. Also, Dane Cook is kind of annoying. The end.

What did you read this last week (that you forgot to mention?

  • Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash (Comic)

I totally forgot FvJvA (1,2,& 3) last week. While it’s not great, I’ve only got 3 more left and I’m sticking it out. What I don’t get is how on one page the art looks amazing, and then you turn it and it looks like it’s a disgusting rough draft that was pulled from the artist. Who knows… maybe the artist is just lazy. I can never tell these things.

That’s it. Weekend. Starts. Now! Comment.

by ZNB Tales of Game’s Studios Presents Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden (Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa)

080123_barkley.jpg

The Great B-Ball Purge of 2041, a day so painful to some that it is referred to only as the “B-Ballnacht”. Thousands upon thousands of the world’s greatest ballers were massacred in a swath of violence and sports bigotry as the game was outlawed worldwide. The reason: the Chaos Dunk, a jam so powerful its mere existence threatens the balance of chaos and order. Among the few ballers and fans that survived the basketball genocide was Charles Barkley, the man capable of performing the “Verboten Jam”…

I don’t think I even need to say anything except provide you with the download link. Three cheers for Tales of Game’s!

by ZNB Is Mahvel Baybee!

This cracks me up. It’s video of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in the arcades that is completely filled to the brim with NSFW smacktalk. But it’s oh so Pringles! CURLY MUSTACHE!!!

by ZNB What did you… (Week 3)

Oh man, I almost forgot! It’s only week 3 and I’m starting to forget. Good gracious here we go with a weekly look at “what did you enjoy” during this specific week of the year.

What did you listen to this week?

  • Beastie Boys - Ill Communication/Check Your Head/Hello Nasty
  • Coheed and Cambria - No World For Tomorrow
  • Trance/House/Underground/Dance Mix Podcasts

Coheed’s been rocking out my car this week (except for some Death From Above 1979 this morning). Beastie Boys kept me going at work one day, and the rest of the week it’s been podcasts. That’s right, lots and lots of free podcasts of electronic music. Some of the mixes are 1/2hr to 1hr (DJ Tiesto, John Digweed’s Transitions) and then there are 2hr + podcasts like Trance Tuesday. Seriously, it’s the best find I’ve found in a loooooong time.

What did you play this week?

  • Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360 - Single Player) - Veteran mode!
  • Crayon Physics

Crystal Chronicles didn’t happen again. It saddens me. Instead, I’ve started playing CoD4 again on Veteran and it’s pretty difficult. I enjoyed a bit of Crayon Physics which is a game for PC that a dude churned out in 5 days. It’s being developed as a bigger better game currently. Burnout Paradise comes out next week… so look for that on the list!

What did you watch this week?

  • American Gladiators (TV)
  • Shoot Em’ Up (DVD)
  • LA Ink (TV)
  • Reno 911 (TV)
  • Sunshine (DVD)

American Gladiators and LA Ink we’ve already discussed. They’re great. Speaking of great, have you been watching Reno 911 lately? If not, you should be. Some of the best comedy improv you’ll see still on the air. Mjblink came over and we enjoyed Shoot Em’ Up. If you don’t already know, it is exactly what it says it is. Balls to the walls, action, killing, over the top, rock my face off, shoot em up film. It’s like Looney Tunes if they all had guns and did heroin. I just finished watching Sunshine, which was from director Danny Boyle (28 Days). I LOVED it. I didn’t get to see it in the theatre, but I’ll definitely recommend renting if you have the chance.

What did you read this week?

  • “The Trial of Colonel Sweeto” - Nicholas Gurewitch
  • “Blankets” - Craig Thompson

More PBF comics in the form of a book. Excellent. I picked up Blankets from the library last week, and I finally had a chance to read it again last night. Whole book. One night. All 592 pages. One of the best books I’ve ever read, and one of the best graphic novels out there. I love the characters and am a huge fan of his art style.

So that’s all. How ’bout yourself???
