Do You Remember Friday Fun Day?

I do. It seems so long ago. So many things have happened since the last official FFD. Oh how I miss them so. I was sifting through some old albums and remembered this idea I had for a post; “Albums That I Can Listen to in Their Entirety”. In the spirit of Friday, I give you my list.

Daft Punk – Discovery

Oddly enough this was the album with which I DISCOVERED them…(pause for laughter)…Thank you, thank you. But seriously, they’ve single-handedly shaped my music taste into what it is today. Love it. Bought it. Watched this video and loved it even more. If you’ve got an hour…

Tool – Aenima

The first of their albums that I bought and still my favorite. Listened to this so much in high school. Used to blast it in “my” ’85 Camaro. /sigh
Favorite track: jimmy

The Postal Service – Give Up

This one surprised me. I had the album for quite a while and one day just queued it up and once it looped back to the first track I was like, “I’m gonna go ahead and listen to it all again.” This was the only album not available to listen to on last.fm.
Favorite track: Nothing Better

More after the jump!

Weezer – The Blue Album

Of COURSE it’s on the list. Favorite track with AMV below.

Nirvana – Nevermind

Yet another high school classic. Obligatory addition really. There’s a reason it’s constantly included in “Top Albums of All Time” lists.
Favorite track: In Bloom or Lithium

Mew – Frengers

Got into them during my stint at OSU. I honestly don’t even remember how. Maybe ZNB had something to do with it.
Favorite track: Toss up between 156 and She Spider

MSTRKRFT – The Looks

Only eight tracks but what an amazing first album…let’s not even talk about their second.
Favorite track: Paris

Out Hud – Let Us Never Speak of it Again

Which segues nicely into this album’s title. haHA! I love this album so much.
Favorite track: Old Nude

Royksopp – Melody A.M.

Oh the hours I spent listening to this album on repeat while playing Soul Calibur 2. I can’t play any Soul Calibur game now without thinking of it.
Favorite track: A Higher Place

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Fever to Tell

The sound of this album is so raw that it makes me like every track. Their albums since have not pleased me as much.
Favorite track: Maps

Honorable Mentions

These don’t quite make my cut, but come darn close:
Justice – Cross
Hot Chip – Coming on Strong
Hot Chip – The Warning
Chromeo – Fancy Footwork
All three Interpol albums
Most of the Radiohead albums
